The faux solid is for those who know how to look closely. From afar it looks like a simple blue; at conversation distance it reveals the material weave of the silk and wool blend. This three-fold tie is cut specifically for the cold months, when a shiny fabric would look out of place under a structured coat. It has the right weight to drape perfectly and the exact texture to stand out without the need to raise your voice.
Style and Matching Advice
-
Agency meeting: The faux solid breaks the monotony of the corporate suit, adding a depth that pure silk lacks. There is no need to overdo the rest, the character is already in the knot.
Outfit: Charcoal grey flannel suit, light blue oxford shirt, dark blue suede desert boots. -
Lunch with creatives: The wool component calls for rough fabrics and decisive volumes. It is worn tightly knotted under something unexpected, for a contrast that works at first glance.
Outfit: Brown herringbone tweed blazer, washed denim shirt, olive green chinos, brushed calfskin penny loafers. -
Aperitif at the bar: When the coat opens, the tie must withstand the visual impact. The matte, textured blue pairs perfectly with heavy winter knitwear.
Outfit: Navy blue double-breasted coat, light grey merino wool cardigan open over a white shirt, straight-cut dark jeans, black chelsea boots.
The tailor's advice: The silk and wool blend has an intrinsic volume that does not require complex knots. A simple Four-in-Hand, pulled to form a slight asymmetrical dimple, is all that's needed. The fabric will maintain its structure throughout the day without sagging.
Product care: Dry clean by professionals only. Do not iron in direct contact with the fabric, but always use a protective cotton cloth and low-temperature steam. At the end of the day, completely untie the knot and leave it hanging to let the fibers stretch out naturally. If one day it wears out or needs fixing, there is our Tie Hospital — the only regeneration service in Italy. Send it to us, it will come back like new.
