THE SHANTUNG SILK

Shantung silk is a highly prized and sought-after fabric. Its history is rooted in ancient China, specifically in the Shandong region, from which it takes its name. Ours comes from Como, which continues to be a crossroads connecting the East and the West for the production of the world's finest silks.

It results from a double silk cocoon produced by two silkworms that construct the cocoon together, a rare event, which is why it is so precious. Technically, it would be the result of a defect. Nevertheless, considering its rarity, its imperfections, flaws, lumps, buttons and knots become foundational elements of its uniqueness and recognizability.

Shantung silk is also durable and resistant to wear. Its surface is rough and soft to the touch, offering a delicate shimmering brightness. This silk is perfect for the creation of highly sought-after ties. It is warm in winter and cool in summer, and it is hypoallergenic, making it perfect for both day and evening wear. Furthermore, it is suitable for more informal and casual occasions.

HOW TO CARE FOR IT

When you remove the tie after wearing it, you can do two things: keep it flat in a drawer or at most folded in half, or use a tie hanger to keep it in the wardrobe.

The washing of a tie should absolutely not be done in the washing machine or with water. The tie should be taken to the dry cleaner for dry cleaning. The tie should not be ironed, either dry or steam. At most, to revive the folds caused by wearing it and the fibers, you can distribute a jet of steam from a distance.

In any case, if you happen to stain or otherwise damage your tie, we suggest you contact us to potentially intervene with a restoration of the product thanks to our regeneration service.

Shipments

We ship worldwide via DHL or FedEx. Shipping costs will be confirmed at order confirmation, as rates vary by destination and order volume. Delivery times will be communicated upon order confirmation, once the balance payment has been received.

Payments

All orders are processed as pre-orders. A 30% advance payment is required to confirm your order — this deposit is partially refundable in case of cancellation. The remaining 70% balance, plus shipping costs, must be settled before dispatch.

By registering and using our B2B portal, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms apply to all orders placed through the portal, whether from our Ready to Wear stock service or our Planned Collection made-to-order service.

1. Order Confirmation

Orders placed via the B2B portal are considered pre-orders and do not automatically guarantee the immediate availability of all requested products. A final confirmation regarding product availability and shipping costs will be sent to you by email after we receive your order.

For Planned Collection orders, production is initiated exclusively after the minimum order thresholds have been met and the advance payment has been received. Each product page specifies the applicable minimum quantities per colour variant and per fabric collection.

2. Advance Payment

To fully confirm any order — whether Ready to Wear or Planned Collection — a 30% advance payment of the total order amount (excluding shipping costs) is required. This advance serves as a security deposit and production guarantee.

3. Cancellation Policy

Should you decide to cancel an order after the advance payment has been made, the 30% advance deposit is not fully refundable. We will retain:

A fixed fee of €40.00
A variable fee of 3% of the total order value

For Planned Collection orders, cancellations after production has started may result in the full advance payment being non-refundable, as the articles are produced exclusively to your specification.

4. Balance Payment and Shipment

The remaining balance of 70%, together with any agreed shipping fees, must be settled before products are shipped.

5. Planned Collection — Specific Conditions

By placing a Planned Collection order, you acknowledge and accept the following additional conditions:

Articles are produced exclusively to your selection of designs and colour variants and cannot be exchanged for other items once production has started.
Estimated delivery for Planned Collection orders is 2–3 months from order confirmation, subject to production schedules.
The images of articles worn by a model shown on product pages may be AI-generated for illustrative purposes only. All fabric and product photography is original.

6. Discounts

The following volume discounts apply automatically to the total order value:

€750 → 5% discount
€1.500 → 10% discount
€4.000 → 15% discount
€7.000 → 20% discount

7. Disputes

Any disputes arising from these terms will be handled exclusively by the court located in the jurisdiction of our company's registered office.
